AYUR WHAT?
Ayurveda means the “The Science of Life”, it is an ancient form of wellness from India that dates back 5,000 years. It is the world's oldest recorded system of medicine.
Based on the holistic belief that optimal health is a state of balance between the body, mind, and spirit, Ayurveda teaches us we are all part of nature and composed of its same five elements.
By observing and learning and living in harmony with nature's cycles, we can experience greater health and happiness.
“You are the World, the World is You.”

AYURVEDA x WESTERN MEDICINE
Ayurveda has played a significant role in shaping Western Medicine both past and present. Fun fact: Alexander the Great discovered many Ayurvedic concepts, like herbalism, while living in India and brought them back to Greece laying the foundation of Western Medicine.
Not only that, the symbol of Western medicine, the mystical and psychedelic 2 snakes on a rod, originated from Ayurveda's concept of Kundalini energy.
You probably know Ayurveda's famous sibling, Yoga! Gut Microbiome, Meditation, Lymphatic Drainage, Somatic Therapy, Circadian Cycles and Breathwork all have roots in Ayurveda. It’s also found in the works of Andrew Huberman, Wim Hof, Dr Joe, Deepak Chopra and Dr. Van Der Kolk to name a few.

SO WHATS THE BIG DIFF?
Western medicine tends to focus on managing symptoms and treating diseases with medications and surgeries.
Ayurveda, on the other hand, takes a proactive and holistic approach by aiming to address the root cause of illness, rather than only treating the symptoms.
Instead of separating the body and mind, as is often done in Western Medicine, Ayurveda aims to achieve optimal health by restoring balance within the body, mind, and spirit.

THE BMS CONNECTION
While your primary care doctor may not ask you about your BMS - Body, Mind and Spirit, an Ayurveda practitioner will.
Chances are, you're already engaging in BMS practices without even realizing it, for example:
- BODY: Diet, exercise, rest
- MIND: Meditation, therapy, creativity
- SPIRIT: Nature walks, breathwork, journalingGood health is not just seen as ridding disease, it is viewed as a optimal state of balance of that Body Mind & Spirit Connection.
Our therapies are designed to connect and strengthen that.

AMA AND WHY WE ARE SLAYING IT
In Ayurveda, Ama refers to the concept of disease.
It translates to "that which is not me" and represents the toxic buildup in our system when our body is in a state of “dis-ease” struggling to process things, everything from undigested food to unprocessed emotions.
To help you slay Ama and restore balance, we offer three powerful Ayurvedic therapies: Shirodhara, Abhyanga, and Svedana
